All Information on this page is for Big Elk Meadows only

First, no contract – we believe our service speaks for itself!  Our goal is to provide high speed internet with great customer service.  Our fees are monthly and are due on the first of the month for that month of service.  Our prices are all inclusive there are no additional surcharges or fees.  Payment can be made via PayPal, Bank Bill Pay or check mailed by snail mail.

Standard Service

To recap, we were awarded a grant by the State of Colorado, the Colorado Broadband Fund, to bring Broadband Service to BEM.

Per the grant contract, we have to and will provide 25/3 Mbps with a 1TB monthly data cap for $109.00/month. We have a lower speed plan of 5/2 Mbps available as well ( $79/mo)
Standard installation, up to 150 feet of cable + 5 GHz radio is a one-time fee of $120.00 ( Infrastructure Contribution)
This includes

  •  For standard wireless service the required 5 GHz Radio and one WiFi router.

High Speed Service

Using the latest nano-wave technology available, we are also able to provide high speed, low latency service with speeds up to 300/100 Mbps. During rollout we will provision 100/100 max.
This new technology is running in the 60Ghz spectrum – means a heavy downpour may create an outage for as long as it rains heavily. We can install a system that automatically will fallback to a lower speed for that time.

Monthly fee is $148.00/mo, automatic fallback is an additional $20.00/mo

  • Wireless service – requires clear line of sight to our tower.
    • Installation, up to 150 feet of CAT5 cable + 60 GHz radio is $150 and a one-time Infrastructure Contribution of $500.00This includes the required 60 GHz Radio and one WiFi router.FTTC (Fiber to the Curb)

Fiber To The Curb (FTTC)

  • For FTTC, the customer has to provide a trench or conduit underground from the curb to the house.
We also can help with trenching/boring – will be quoted/estimated individually.

    • Installation, up to 150 feet of CAT5 cable from the Optical Network Terminal (ONT) at the house is $150 plus a one-time Infrastructure Contribution of $500.00.
This includes either one WiFi router with fiber optic capabilities or an ONT and one WiFi router.

All installed materials are property of xBar7. Electronic equipment has to be returned by the customer at termination of service unless other arrangements have been made with us ( Like property sold and new owner takes over service)

Vacation Plan

We realize there is part time residents who would like to have high speed broadband but a low cost service, even no service while not occupying the residence.
We certainly understand this, but it creates a dilemma. Service plan rates are calculated for year-round use. We simply cannot afford to provide service at the publish rates for say just 3 months of a year.
We are trying to find a compromise and will do:

  • we can switch to the lowest possible rate for the time of no occupancy ( $49.00/mo) – we will not prorate, it is a month either “home” or “vacation”. No additional fees for the change – but limited to twice a year.
  • turn it off completely – this involves some risk. We have to roll out software updates (firmware). In case a system is off, the system will miss the update and can become unreachable later, which would require a site visit/service call to update at site. Service calls are billable.
Turning on and off is also significant administrative work, so we will have to charge a fee for every time “flipping the switch”

Specialized Systems

We take pride in our ability to design specialized systems to meet specific needs of a customer.  If one of the above plans does not meet your needs we are happy to consult and design a system for you.  We will provide  a written plan with itemized costs. We also offer managed Mesh-WiFi
